About
Meet Jennifer Ross
m a California artist, writer, and doctoral student in Clinical Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute, with a background in art education and graphic design. Creativity has always been one of the ways I make sense of my experiences and the world around me.
Working primarily in oil painting and mixed media, I am interested in how images help us make meaning from everyday life and tell the stories of who we are. My work often explores transformation, connection, belonging, and the relationship between our inner and outer worlds.
My studies in depth psychology have deepened this exploration and brought my creative work into conversation with psychodynamic and Jungian thought. Free the Phoenix grew from this intersection of art, psychology, and lived experience—a space for exploring creativity as a way of discovering meaning, engaging with change, and becoming more fully ourselves.
